Gazetted in 1962, Kidepo Valley National Park is one of the oldest Protected Areas in the country and covers an area of 144200 hectares in the North-Eastern side of the country. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Long drive to Kidepo Valley National Park by road
After an amazing night rest and breakfast, you will depart from your place of residence in Kampala and drive for over 8-9 hours northeast towards Kidepo Valley National Park. Your safari destination is the remotest Park in Uganda but surprisingly the most endowed.
You will have a number of stops en-route to take photos, stretch your legs, buy snacks and have lunch. You will arrive your destination late evening for a well-deserved dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Kidepo Valley National Park Tour- game drive and Karamojong cultural experience
On this amazing day, you will venture into the heart of Kidepo Valley National Park on a private and rewarding game drive tour. Spend the next 3-4 hours driving through the wildlife-rich areas of this Park while hoping to see some of the rarest species such as serval cats, lions, cheetahs, leopards, spotted hyenas, and caracals among others.
One of the unmissable places in Kidepo valley National Park is the stunning Narus Valley (the Oasis of Kidepo) where you are likely to see giant elands, zebras, Uganda Kobs, cheetahs, Cape buffaloes, Oribis, the African bush elephants, warthogs, Defassa waterbucks, lions, bushbucks, and lots of bird species that include the endemic Karamoja Apalis. You will later have lunch at the Lodge and continue with your adventure.
In the afternoon, you will visit the local Karamojong warriors who will take you through their culture, traditions, local cuisines and even homesteads (known as Manyatta). The climax of this cultural visit is the invigorating cultural dance that will close your unforgettable day.

Day 3: Kidepo Tour: Mount Morungole Hike and evening game drive
Today, you will relish another thrilling Kidepo National Park adventure, this time strenuous- Mount Morungole Hike. This is not just an ordinary Mountain but home to the endangered IK people whose population currently stands at about 10,000 people.
This Hike is led by a local guide who will lead you through the slopes of this 2750-meter mountain and it will take you about 7-8 hours for a round tri. Enjoy endless jaw-dropping views of the Kidepo encounter monkeys along the way and get to learn about these people.
There is an optional evening game drive with more views of side-striped jackals, leopards, lions, Aardwolf, striped hyenas, cheetahs and others.
